Hosta - shade loving perennial
Frances Williams Large glaucous leaves have a lighter creamy eadge. Will grow large although it grows slowly to get there.
Great Expectations Most of a leaf is a light, creamy yellow. There is a ring of green at the leaf edge. Grows large.
Inniswood The leaf is a very pale cream with a very thin edge of green. Medium to large.
montana 'Aureo-marginata' Plants grow tall and upright. The shiny leaves are a rich green in the center surrounded by a lighter green to cream edge. This is the first hosta to show signs of growth in spring, and might need protection from late spring frosts. Requires more shade.
montana f. macrophylla (praeflorens) Large leaves of green to glaucous blue. Large-growing.
Northern Exposure The leaves have a deeply corrugated texture, and are green with a wide edging of cream.Grows medium to large.
Paradigm Its leaves begin the summer as a solid green, and develop large, creamy yellow centers as summers advances.Plants will grow to a medium size.
Patriot The pure white edging to the leaf lights up a shady garden. Center of the leaves are dark green. Plants grow to a medium size.
Queen of Islip This hosta grows large. Leaves have a light green center and darker green edging.
Regal Splendor (a.k.a. Krossa with cream edge) The glaucous leaves are thinly edged in yellowish cream and have a gently rolling edge. The form of the plant will be more upright and less spreading than the following variety, 'Sagae.' Flower stems will be tall, up to five feet.
Sagae Similarly colored to 'Regal Splendor,' the leaves of this spread out more horizontally. The leaves have a smooth surface, are colored in a glaucous shade of green with a cream edging, and leaf edges have a gentle wave to them. Plants will grow large.
Striptease These green leaves have an inch-wide pattern of cream irregularly splayed down the center of each leaf.
Sum and Substance The large leaves are particularly rounded. In full sun the leaf color will become golden, much more golden than shown in this photo. And it can takes full-sun better than most hostas. Plants become very large.
Sun Power Medium growing is this. It likes full sun better than most hostas, and needs sunshine to turn to a pure yellow . The leaf veins add a nice texture to the leaf surface. The entire leaf surface can roll and wave.
Titanic (Sum & Substance with a lighter edge) Similar to 'Sum and Substance,' this has a lighter edging. Will grow large.
ventricosa 'Aureo-marginata' Green leaves have an irregular cream edge. The plant will grow medium to large in size.
Wide Brim Size of this hosta is small to medium. The leaves have more cream than green to them. The green is down the center of the leaves.
